Fundraising for SCBU

(Special Care Baby Unit - St. Michaels Hospital, Bristol)

Since 2006 Avery's Grand Charity Ball ‘In Memory of Jack Colin Tucker’ fundraising for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at St. Michaels Hospital, Bristol has taken place biannually and we are so proud to report that our event has so far raised over £200,000. We have purchased vital equipment including; incubators, a monitoring response unit, babytherm units, a blood gas analyser & vital signs baby monitors.

Sarah says; "The generosity and support from so many people is unbelievable, and it is truly remarkable how my close friend Jane (Jacks mother) finds her inner strength to throw herself into the event which is such an emotional roller coaster, I know Jack would be so proud. It is a fantastic feeling to raise any amount of money for a charity, knowing you have made a difference, but the ‘icing on the cake’ for us, is to see the delivery of the equipment we have purchased for SCBU, meeting the dedicated staff, and witnessing all the babies and parents that could receive a life changing experience through our fundraising... it really doesn't get better than that. We are sure, we can speak for everyone involved that we all feel exactly the same that it is so much better to give than to receive".

Mark Regan MBE & ex England rugby player says; "It is with great pleasure that I became Patron of Avery Estate Agents Charity Fundraising in memory of Jack for SCBU. I am proud to be associated with a successful team of people, who with tremendous effort, time, thought and dedication, have to date managed to raise £200,000 making the purchase of vital lifesaving equipment for Neonatal Care possible, which without doubt will have helped save many babies lives.”
